Organizing. It’s in the bag! SugarSnap Review.

I crave organization in all areas of my life.  I’m not saying that everything is organized at this moment (we have moved several times in the past 8 years), but I do find myself less stressed and much happier when I’ve organized something that will make my life more efficient. For example, I cringe when I look into our garage. It is in desperate need of being organized and needs a day dedicated for just that. I digress.

Our purse or diaper bag goes where we go. This includes your diaper bags too, dads! We are constantly riffling through them to find something whether it be a phone, wallet, pacifier, apple slices, or sunscreen. Well over a year ago, as I crammed my potty training daughter’s extra clothes, snacks, and a million other necessary items into my diaper bag, I thought to myself that I need a better system for organizing that darn bag. I had finally graduated from diapers and bottles and found myself knee deep in wet undies and a handy supply of finger foods. And all I really wanted was to use a real purse again. You know that feeling?

I hopped online and came across sugarSNAP and their new (at the time) file system. SugarSNAP creates smart and stylish products that help parents get and stay organized. Wait…that was exactly what I was looking for AND it’s even made by moms for moms! So why didn’t I order it immediately? I don’t know, we were trying to save money and I couldn’t justify it as a necessary expense. But then they added a new version of the sugarSNAP file called the Me + Mine Collection. It was exactly what I needed since my daughter had left the baby stage and was officially a toddler. I jumped at the opportunity and have enjoyed life organized by sugarSNAP ever since. Please note that this is not a paid review. I paid for this with my own money and all opinions are my own.

The sugarSNAP Me + Mine files include five bags with mesh on the front and a fun pattern on the back. I had 2 color choices and chose the “Cooper” gray and yellow pattern (you now have  4 color options). Each file has a tab on top for easy identification and can be personalized from a sheet of labels to suit your specific needs. I used my files for a week or so before picking the labels – Remedies + Relief, Technology, Snacks + Supplies, Toys + Trinkets, and Shirts + Socks. They can be easily removed and updated with new labels as your needs change, but the funny thing is that I’m still using the same labels over a year later. I guess I chose well!

Organize all these files by simply snapping all or just the ones you need together with the hook-and-ring. I finally transitioned to using a real purse (Yes!) and depending on the size of the purse I’m using, I unhook just 1 or 2 of the files in order for it to fit. If I still need all 5 files, I place them into my daughter’s backpack or even pull the diaper bag out of its hiding place. For these pictures, I placed all 5 into a larger purse to give you a sense of how it may fit for you. These files should have been bursting at the seams with all the additional clothing, snacks, toys, etc. I was lugging around a year ago. I’ve been able to ease back a little on all that now that my daughter is 4, but I can testify that these files are very well made. Not only are they easy to wipe clean, but not one has a rip or tear and they almost look as good as the day I bought them.

Lucky you! Making its debut, my purse has opened up for the first time ever to show you what’s inside. Enjoy!

I’d love to hear your story if sugarSNAP is already a part of your life and would be happy to answer any questions if you’re considering buying sugarSNAP now. And please be sure to tell them that Alli from lifeasus.com sent you! I’m working on a new creation for my car’s backseat and trunk organization, fully inspired by the newer sugarSNAP product called Car-Go. Rather than retire the files I already own, I plan to use them to keep my car clean, organized, and ready for my growing pre-schooler (well, as much as possible). Stay tuned for more!  -lifeasallison

These are awesome! I’m a fan of big bags (and carrying my life around with me in them) but it’s been hard to find smaller bags to properly contain the chaos inside. I’ll definitely be checking these out! (And I have that Philip Lim Target bag too! Its size seemed a little much to me at first, but as a mom it’s been great to have space for so much!)

I’m so happy to introduce you to this awesome invention made by real moms, Elizabeth! I think I had one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” moments when I found these. That’s so funny because I thought that this Philip Lim Target bag was way too big for me too…until I had one of those days when I need to carry a million things for my daughter. Be sure to tell sugarSNAP that Alli from lifeasus.com sent you :) And please let me know how you like them!

I recognize that gold and white polka dot bag and now I feel so special :) Staying tuned for more on the car organizing situation… right now I have a cardboard box wrangling Ansley’s car toys and have given up organizing any of the little things I like to have on hand…. teach me oh, wise one!

I knew when I bought the bag for you that I may never send it because I loved it so much. So…I bought 2! Problem solved. haha. I must say that a cardboard box is way better than the lack of toy storage in my car currently! But I have some amazing ideas that I think will work great so please, please check back! And then you can try it and help make it even better!
