DIY Guest Basket

DIY Guest Basket (lifeasus.com) #guests #overnightguests #guestbasket #diy #diyguestbasket #welcomebasketWednesday the 14th was my official due date. We head into the unknown this week of whether baby RD would join our family on his own or wait to be induced on Saturday. So naturally I’m feeling a little anxious with the remaining busy work days and nights ahead and simply hope that I can get to the hospital safely and with my best friend, Life as Eric, on this side of the Bay Bridge.

Having grown up in the Bay Area myself, I feel lucky that my parents live close and that my amazing mom will stay with us for a day or two as needed after baby RD is born. You’re the best, mom! And come February, my beautiful mother-in-law will also be staying with us! Our new SF flat is finally unpacked and really starting to feel like home. The “Sunshine” room as KC has named the Bonus/Guest room, has been pulled together for overnight guests with new bedding, but I still wanted to add a little extra something to greet my mom and mother-in-law for their stay at the “Life as Us” Bed and Breakfast. I’m sure they will both see this post in advance, so…rats…I ruined the surprise!

  2. White towels (Target)
  3. Basket (Target)
  4. Pair of slippers (TJ Maxx)
  5. Box of tissue (Target)
  6. Bottle of water (Amazon Fresh)
  7. Scented candle (Target)
  8. Pretty blank journals and pen (Target)

  15. Face cleansing towelettes (Target)

I also stocked the cupboard with a few salty snacks, although I’m having a hard time staying away from them at 40 weeks pregnant! I think it’s the thought that counts, so have fun packing your DIY Guest Basket and remember to add a few personalized items that remind you of your special guest. I remember my mom always loving Rocky Road candy bars when I was growing up!
