Why Men Should Like Stitch Fix + Giveaway

Why Men Should Like Stitch Fix + Giveaway (lifeasus.com) #stitchfix #personalstylist #subscriptionbox #fashion #style #win #giveawayMy wife, Alli, has been a fan and subscriber to Stitch Fix for over two years now. When she originally signed up she was on a waiting list the company was so new. I’m sure most of our female readers know about Stitch Fix, but for those who might not, and especially for the guys, Stitch Fix is a subscription based personal styling company that sends around five items a month to ladies based on a personal profile which is tweaked and fined tuned by both the stylist and subscriber on an ongoing basis. It’s a big deal every month when the Stitch Fix box arrives not only for my wife, but even five year old KC as she always helps open, unpack, and even model the new “fix.” Sometimes it is all a perfect fit in every way and kept with an additional discount. And sometimes some of it goes back. Rarely does it all go back, but several days are given to try it on, get input, and decide.

Pretty simple.

But as a bystander and an auxiliary beneficiary of the beautiful clothes my already beautiful wife gets to wear, my appreciation for the service goes much further.

Here’s why.

CONFIDENCE

Before Stitch Fix shopping was just short of painful for and with my wife. She had it in her head that she just wasn’t very good at putting outfits together. Her confidence in her own style would lead to frustration both in the closet and in the aisles of any store. This not only surprised me (since my wife is very confident in almost all other aspects of her life), but also became a source of frustration for myself as unhappy partners create challenges in relationships. It didn’t take long for the Stitch Fix stylist to turn that around. It quickly went from wearing exactly what they sent her, to Alli starting to mix and match different fix items, and then to my wife being so confident in her style that she started sharing her own and giving advice to others. Don’t get me wrong. The foundation of her style and wardrobe is still Stitch Fix, but that’s by choice now as she loves to shop other stores and sites to create new looks. Anything that gives my wife more confidence and makes her even more amazing that she is I am 100 percent in favor!

BUDGET

We are a large family and have a lot of people to clothe and feed. So, keeping as close to a budget as possible is important to us. Stitch Fix makes it easy to budget what Alli spends on personal clothing and accessories. Their prices are reasonable for the quality they provide and the total amount of the Fix is always about the same plus an additional 25 percent off if she keeps it all. If she doesn’t then she has that extra money we’ve budgeted to spend somewhere else. It keeps her looking great and helps keep us on track as a family!

LESS STRESS

With a pre-schooler and an infant shopping trips are rarely enjoyable when Alli is on her own. When the Fix box arrives each month KC and Mommy can go shopping in the living room while baby RD sits in his swing. Everyone is happier by the time I get home from work!

RAISING DREAMERS Why Men Should Like Stitch Fix + Giveaway (lifeasus.com) #stitchfix #personalstylist #subscriptionbox #fashion #style #win #giveaway

The last reason, and for me probably the most important, came to me last night when I got to tag along with Alli, KC and RD to Stitch Fix’s launch event for the their new Maternity and Petite lines of clothing on Tuesday night. I’ll let Alli fill you in on the new clothes and fun night, but we all had the honor of meeting the founder and CEO of Stitch Fix, Katrina Lake. First time meeting her, but Alli had shared and I had read her story several times before.  This dynamic lady, while still in her twenties, after consulting for several major retailers and restaurant chains decided to go to Harvard Business School and start Stitch Fix right before graduating with her MBA.  Founded in 2011 Stitch Fix has grown to be an incredible successful business plan and Katrina Lake has become an admired leader and mentor in her company (obvious to me at the event) and the ideal example for all business people, women entrepreneurs and even young girls like my five year old daughter.  KC loved all of the Stitch Fix event we attended including getting to play with other kids under the supervision of Stitch Fix provided nannies and getting to take her daily #dresswithus picture with Alli AND Katrina Lake.  After the event KC asked, “What does that lady we took the picture with do at Stitch Fix?”  What a pleasure to be able to answer, “THAT lady came up with the idea to start Stitch Fix, KC.  She dreamed a lot, then worked SO hard to learn what she needed to, got super brave to not let anything stop her, and then went for it!”  KC is lucky she has a mommy that will never let her forget that she can do anything in life by words and by example.  But as a dad I will never stop searching for other women that can show by example that she can be everything she ever wants to be and build anything she wants to dream.

All the reasons above why men should like Stitch Fix can easily be valued by women without the thumbs up approval from a man.  But just as a reminder to the husbands, partners, and dad’s out there…sometimes there’s a great deal more in a box than just a dress and charge on your credit card.  – life as eric

Now, here’s Alli to tell you more about Stitch Fix’s new lines AND a special giveaway!

Why Men Should Like Stitch Fix + Giveaway (lifeasus.com) #stitchfix #personalstylist #subscriptionbox #fashion #style #win #giveawayIt really was a fun evening getting to go to Stitch Fix’s beautiful headquarters in downtown San Francisco and help them celebrate their big news with other bloggers, companies and Bay Area mom groups!  On Tuesday Stitch Fix officially launched both their Maternity and Petites line of clothes. Any pregnant mommy-to-be’s out there or women looking for an excuse to be? I admit that I’m slightly jealous and wishing that a few pairs of comfortable and stylish maternity jeans had made their way into my fix while I was still pregnant. I don’t know about you, but walking around the mall in search of maternity clothes was never high on my to do list while pregnant. How about my friends 5’3″ and under? Stitch Fix listened to your requests for sizing made exclusively for you and boy did they deliver!  Much of the new clothing was featured at the event and had me wishing I was pregnant AND shorter!  Best if you head over to Stitch Fix and check it out yourself, but to continue the celebration we are giving away a $50.00 Stitch Fix Credit.  Both existing and new customers are eligible, but if you are just signing up please click HERE to get started.  (I share because I truly love the service Stitch Fix provides. It’s an added bonus that I get $25 credit towards my future fixes for each friend I refer who signs up and buys their first fix via my personal referral link. You too will be able to enjoy the same perk for referring friends and family once you sign up!)  xoxo, life as allison

Have been wanting to try stitch fix for a long time! I would live to try pieces I would probably not pick up in a store.

I love Stitch Fix! I have kept every item both months I have received boxes because they are just what I need! If you take the time to fill out your profile and link to a pinterest board, when you open the box you feel like your best friend went shopping for you. I am wearing a top today that I received from Stitch Fix :) Keep up the great work!

I love Stitch Fix! Untried it only once. Would love to continue, but don’t have husband’s support as it “isn’t in the budget”. Someday…

Great post! Another reason men should like Stitch Fix is that they don’t have to physically go to the store with their partners and wait/hold things for them. :) Win-win all around!

Love Stitch Fix and so excited about their new Maternity line (just gave birth to my son two months ago and would have loved this option while pregnant!). Now, at 6’0″, I’m hoping us tall ladies are next on their style to do list!

I love Stitch Fix. I recently had to cancel my latest fix as my husband and I are going down to one income this month and expecting our first baby. I am 5’2 and 39 weeks pregnant! A little jealous I missed the petite and maternity launch. But, hopefully soon I’ll get to try some of stitch Fixes petite styles! I’m a terrible shopper and for me, the stitch fix box is a lifesaver! My middle school students think im stylish thanks to Stitch Fix!

This month will be my second fix from stichfix! I decided to try it after following Allison on instagram and loving all her outfits! Only bought 1 thing from my first box, but loved the styles given. My second box should come on Sunday and I’m really excited! :)

So, so excited for petites! The pants I get with my fixes are so cute, but never actually fit! They are way too long and the knees are all awkward and I can never justify the price, even if they feel great otherwise! Now maybe I’ll get something I can actually wear!!!

I just signed up with Stitch Fjx last weekend, not realizing they were about to launch their maternity line, but it’s perfect because I’m 15 weeks with my third child! Even though I have maternity clothes from my first two, my tastes have changed some, and I need some more things I can wear to work this time around. My first fix is scheduled for next week, and I can’t wait to see what I get! Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I’m almost six months pregnant and always complain to my husband that I have nothing to wear! And I love the few maternity clothes I have because I can see myself wearing them post-partum too! I would love to try stitch fix!

  30. March 12, 2015 at 9:23 pm

I love stitch fix!! As a petite woman this new line makes me so happy!! Can’t wait to check out the new line – thanks for sharing! :)

I’m waiting for my new Fix to arrive! Hoping to get some help on how to put outfit’s together and dress myself with confidence. After having my son it’s more of a challenge to feel comfortable and make breastfeeding more accessible with what I choose to wear.

I love stitchfix! It’s the best day of the month! I get so excited to see what my stylist has picked, it’s like christmas all the time! One of my favorite parts about stitchfix is they introduced me to Alli, and the entire @lifeasus family. For this I am thankful, friendship and cute clothes!! ❤️

I found out about Stitch Fix just a few weeks ago and I was sad when I saw that they didn’t carry maternity clothes… I would be happier that they do now, but I’m less than twenty days away from my due date, lol. Oh well! It’ll be great for next time around! :) I still can’t wait to try it after I give birth! I’m hoping some of the stuff will be good for nursing and will also make me feel a little better about my post-baby body. :) Thanks for the giveaway!

Love everything about stitchfix! And unbeknownst to me the very first month I updated my pregnancy news in my style profile they were launching the maternity fix! I was so excited to get some really good basics and adorable things I will be rocking while pregnant all summer long!!!

Love this! I have only had two fixes so far, but my third is on its way and I am so excited! It’s like Christmas every month!
I can definitely relate to controlling your budget. I was an out of control shopper, and never had anything I liked to wear. I’ve already stocked up on a few outfits that I LOVE with the two fixes I have received.

I couldn’t agree more with all the points @lifeaseric made about why he supports StitchFix, especially the confidence piece. I’ve gained more confidence in this last year with them helping me create and identify my own personal style than I ever thought was even possible. Shopping used to be extremely intimidating… now, I look forward to how I can play around with key pieces. I admire everything they’ve done, for all of us!

I used your stitch fix referral and I got my firsts fix yesterday… I love it!! Im so happy to finally feel like I’ll have some sort of sense of style and and be able to put cute outfits together once I keep receiving cute pieces and style tips from stitch fix. If only I wasn’t paying for grad school
I would get a stitch fix every month in dead of every three! I kept two pieces from yesterday’s box and I wish I could’ve kept them all! Thank you for blogging about stitch fix and being such a style inspiration to me.

I was a little skeptical about stitch fix at first, mostly because I am one of those people-shapes that stores can’t cater to (no love for tall ladies in these parts) – and being overseas, shopping is an adventure of epic proportions. On a whim, after seeing such positive reviews from friends and finding Alli on instagram, I gave in and tried it. I was sure I wouldn’t fit into the style profiles, but I was pleasantly surprised with the selections I received on the first box AND everything fit very well! Def becoming one of my favorite things to look forward to from back home in the US!
